An Acclaimed Bassist is Back with a New Group of His Own
You may have heard of John Patitucci during his meteoric rise to fame in the 1980s. But now, Patitucci brings a new experience to Fayetteville. Witness the bass legend and his group, featuring two lead guitarists and a world-class drummer, play blues, funk, jazz, and soul tunes that continue to inspire. Check out John Patitucci Electric Guitar Quartet live at Walton Arts Center on Saturday, December 1st.
Two-time Grammy Award-winner and fifteen-time Grammy nominee, John Patitucci received world-wide acclaim for his many recordings with Chick Corea’s Elektric Band and Akoustic Band. His eclectic tastes have pushed him to explore various genres as both a musician and a composer, but it’s his work with jazz luminaries, such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and McCoy Turner, that skyrocketed his first solo recording to the top of the Billboard Jazz charts.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest bassists, Patitucci’s latest band finds fresh inspiration in his love of funk and jazz, utilizing two electric guitarists, Adam Rogers and Steve Cardenas, as well as virtuoso Brian Blade on drums and John on his signature electric bass.
The new group, simply named John Patitucci Electric Guitar Quartet, now comes to Walton Arts Center in support of Brooklyn, the group’s latest release that celebrates the unique vibe of the neighborhood where Patitucci grew up. Cabaret and stadium seating are available for purchase online. Don’t miss what promises to be an unforgettable evening!
