Frolic Through the Amazing Artwork on Exhibit at Crystal Bridges
See the amazing outdoor exhibit, In the Forest, featuring the work of artist Dale Chihuly and now on display at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Globally renowned for his site-specific installations in public spaces, Chihuly’s creations have become familiar around the world. At Crystal Bridges, his latest extensive outdoor installations feature new works by the artist, as well as iconic works spanning his career.
Born in 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, Chihuly has been an innovator for more than 40 years. He has worked in many media including glass, paint, plastics, neon, and ice, always pushing their boundaries to carry out his distinctive vision.
A pioneer in the use of glass as an artistic tool, Chihuly established the glass program at the Rhode Island School of Design and co-founded Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. He continues to stretch the medium to new realms of possibility, and this exhibition highlights the unique properties of glass as a medium.
